Teachers Across Borders Southern Africa
is back in the Free State! For the next 3 weeks, these experienced
educators from the USA will be conducting training workshops for 490 teachers
in STEM subjects and are also piloting a Coding & Robotics program.
“830 000 learners and 23 000 teachers have benefitted from the TABSA initiative for the past 3 years. Our performance in Maths and Science is improving remarkably thanks to to their investment ” Mr. Tsatsi Montso -DDG for Curriculum and District Management; at the welcoming dinner last night in Bloemfontein.
Founder and director Yunus Peer, a native
South African said “The strength of TABSA lies in its innovative teaching
methods that meet and exceed CAPS standards, using readily available materials.
Our late MEC Tate Makgoe, a good friend of mine, asked that we start a program
in Foundation Phase and this year in his absence we have a project in
foundation phase for our teachers”.
Trainings will take place at Tsoseletso Secondary School in Bloemfontein and Ntsu Secondary School in Bethlehem.
