Grassland Primary School, First Place Winners
Grassland Primary and Heatherdale Secondary Schools won FIRST and SECOND place at the Chinese Consulate Driving Education Culture: June 16 Drama Legacy Short Video Competition!
The Consulate has been running these programmes since 2022 as a way to develop their relationship with the province over the last three years. Participating learners get an opportunity to visit the consulate in Sandton Johannesburg, where they experience the unique Chinese culture and cuisine.
For this competition learners had to submit 5min videos depicting the happenings of Youth Day June 16 1976, while also reflecting on the China- South Africa relations. Both schools submitted spectacular pieces that landed them their win! Consulate General Mr. CJ Pen said “The relationship between China and South Africa is entering a golden era under the guidance of both presidents, where we are seeing a rapid exchange and cooperation in every sphere, especially education”.
