Concerned citizen tell MEC of her 12-year-old daughter who is not attending school and stopped receiving the child support grant
At the Fezile Dabi District Social Compact Imbizo that took place on 27 September 2024 in Parys, the MEC for Education Dr. MJ Maboya, assured the residents of Fezile Dabi that the Department of Education will continue to the interests of learners and their parents at the forefront of all its endevours. “Through ‘Social Facilitation’ we will make sure to inform and engage communities on the infrastructure projects that will be taking place in their midst, at their schools”.
The MEC went on to encourage the community, amidst concerns of budget cuts in the Education sector , that no permanent teachers will lose their jobs. “They are protected by the collective agreement signed between the department and Unions”.
Accompanied by senior officials in the department, the MEC attended to concerns raised on the floor.
