The National Schools Moot Court Competition hosted its preliminary oral rounds from 25-29 September 2024, at the University of Pretoria. Deputy Minister of Basic Education, Dr Reginah Mhaule congratulated provincial finalists on their impressive research and presentation skills, underscoring the value of exploring knowledge beyond textbooks. The final round was held at the Constitutional Court in Johannesburg, adjudicated by a distinguished panel of 11 judges. Four schools from the province participated in the competitions, Phehello Secondary reaching position 7 falling short of securing a space in the finals, Grey College, Brebner Secondary, and Kheleng Secondary School. The province received 2 accolades for Best Essay for the applicant Andile Mhlongo and Okuhle Makhalanyane and Most Improved Province.
