FREE STATE CLASS OF 2025 PLEDGE TO WRITE EXAMINATIONS WITH INTERGRITY
The Leadership of the Free State Department of Education came out in full armour to support the Class of 2025 ahead of their final NSC Examinations. On 17 October 2025, the Provincial Pledge Signing Ceremony took place at Lekgarietse Secondary School in Welkom.
The rationale for the Grade 12 pledge signing is to assist with the curbing and control of examination irregularities, such as crib notes, copying, possession of cell phones into the examination room.
The Pledge was introduced as an attempt to adopt a more proactive rather than a reactive approach to the reduction of examination irregularities. It was also used as an opportunity to wish well the Class of 2025 and motivate them to continue studying hard for the upcoming examinations.
MEC Dr MJ Maboya led an inspiring Ceremony, that not only reminded learners of their duty to integrity and honesty while they write, but also to remember that the department is counting on them to retain the number one spot.
“This occasion – the signing of the National Senior Certificate Examination Pledge – is not a ritual; it is a covenant between conscience and destiny. It stands as a declaration that every learner sitting for the 2025 examinations understands what it means to be entrusted with the dignity of learning and the honour of representing the Free State. This is not an ordinary day. It is a moment of solemn significance – when the future meets accountability; when dreams are weighed not by wishes, but by will” MEC said.
Thank you to all departmental officials who went out to schools to support and motivate our children. Class of 2025, we are behind you!
